Chauffeur punts

A standard return tour takes you the length of the Backs between Silver St and Quayside, lasting approximately 45 minutes. The tour includes Queens' College and the Mathematical bridge, Kings College, Claire College, Trinity Hall, Trinity College, St. Johns College, the bridge of Sighs, and Magdalene College.

Blankets and umbrellas are provided as standard. Life jackets are available on request.

Longer tours can be arranged up to half a day, on any part of the river.

Our chauffeurs are expert punters, who can present you with the historical facts and stories of the colleges, University and the student life. Have you heard that Sir Isaac Newton designed the Mathematical Bridge, without nuts or bolts? Come and discover the truth behind it.

Chauffeured punts can be booked in advance.

Walking punting tours

Combine a chauffeured Punt tour with a walking tour of the historic city centre. Your Registered Guide will introduce you to the essential highlights of Cambridge that can't be seen from the River.

Although this tour does pass Kings College, entrance to the chapel is an optional extra.

Please note that this is a service we offer mainly to groups with a minimum charge of £150.

Punt yourself

We hire punts by the hour, and then every quarter hour afterwards. A pole, paddle and cushions are provided as standard. Life jackets are available on request.

Some people learn to punt very quickly, but some don't. If you haven't punted before, our staff are always ready to offer punting tips and demonstrations.

The maximum capacity of a self-hire punt is six people. (As required by law)

Self-hire punts can usually be booked in advance.
